Civic engagement is central to dismantling systems of hate and advancing equity within the community. It creates opportunities for individuals and organizations to come together, build trust, and take part in shaping a more just society. Through participation, dialogue, and shared responsibility, communities can transform pain into collective action.

At the 5/14 Memorial and Healing Center, civic engagement will be expressed through dedicated spaces for organizing, programming that strengthens relationships between residents and local law enforcement, and collaborations with organizations working toward equality. These efforts position the Center as a model for community-driven change on both a local and national level.
